Credit control software UK
Credit control software built for the work between invoice and payment.
RecoverAble Control is purpose-built credit-control software for UK businesses. Add an invoice and Control runs the routine chasing, records promises and payment plans, watches for changes in risk and recommends the next move, bringing you in only when a decision genuinely needs you.

What is credit control software?
Credit control is everything that happens after an invoice is sent and before it is paid: knowing what is overdue, chasing it, recording what the customer says they will do, noticing when they do not, handling queries and disputes, and deciding when an account needs a firmer approach.
In many businesses that work lives in a spreadsheet, an inbox and somebody’s memory. Credit control software gives it a system. At its simplest, it sends invoice reminders. At its most useful, it runs the whole workflow — accounts receivable management, debtor management and overdue invoice chasing — and tells you only what needs your attention.
How Control works, in six steps.
The mental model is simple: the invoice goes in once, and Control takes responsibility for the routine work around it.
1. Add or upload the invoice
Add or upload the invoice once. It becomes a live item Control is responsible for, rather than a row someone has to remember to look at.
2. Control watches and chases
Routine chasing runs on the schedule and in the tone you set — relationship-first or firmer — and starts when you say it should.
3. Promises and payment plans are held
When a customer commits to a date or an arrangement, it is recorded against the invoice and checked. A missed date is noticed, not forgotten.
4. Changes in risk are picked up
Within each plan’s allowance — including two checks in the free trial — company checks and monitoring watch the businesses behind your invoices, so a change in their position reaches you early.
5. The next action is recommended
Control’s decision logic looks at what has happened on the account and recommends what should happen next, with the reasoning in plain terms.
6. You step in only where judgement is needed
A dispute, a broken arrangement, a decision about escalation — those come to you. The routine work does not.
What Control does that a spreadsheet or accounting reminder does not.
- It holds commitments. A promise to pay or a payment plan is tracked to the date, not left in an email thread.
- It reacts to what the customer does. Chasing changes when a customer replies, commits, disputes or goes quiet — a fixed reminder schedule does not.
- It recommends the next move. Instead of a list of overdue invoices, you get a considered next step on each account.
- It watches the risk, not just the date. On every plan — within its allowance, including two checks in the free trial — company checks flag changes in the businesses behind your invoices.
- It keeps you in charge. You set the tone, when automation starts and what happens at escalation.
Put another way: what if your credit controller only had to deal with the accounts that genuinely need a person?
Accounting software, reminder tools, outsourcing — and Control.
These are different kinds of thing, and they are often confused. A plain description of each:
Accounting software
Raises the invoice and records the payment. It is the system of record for your books — it is not built to run the work in between: the chasing, the promises, the disputes and the decisions about what to do next.
Reminder and invoice-chasing tools
Send scheduled reminders. Useful, but a reminder is only one part of credit control. Once a customer replies, promises a date, disputes a line or goes quiet, the work usually falls back to a person and a spreadsheet.
Outsourced credit control
Hands the work to another firm’s people. That can suit some businesses, but it is a service, not software you run — and your customer relationships sit with someone else.
RecoverAble Control
Software that runs the credit-control workflow itself: chasing, promises, payment plans, risk and the recommended next step, with you in control of tone and decisions. Not outsourced credit control. Not another invoicing system.

Control and Control Pro
Why Control is different.
Control’s decision logic is proprietary, and it is built from 50 years of combined frontline credit-control and recovery experience — the experience of chasing, disputing and recovering money owed to UK businesses, written into the software rather than kept in someone’s head.
Control is not outsourced credit control, and it is not another invoicing system. It is your credit-control operation, running in software. RecoverAble Solutions, which provides debt recovery, is a separate company: escalating an account to them is a decision you make, and nothing is handed over automatically.
Who Control suits.
Any UK business that invoices on credit terms. Each sector gets paid differently, so there is a page for the most common ones.
- Credit control for sole traders and small businesses
- Credit control for recruitment agencies
- Credit control for construction and trades
- Credit control for road haulage
- Credit control for professional services
- Fee arrears for independent schools
- Existing RecoverAble clients
- All sectors, including property and wholesale
Questions businesses ask about credit control software.
What is credit control software?
- Credit control software manages the work between sending an invoice and getting paid: keeping overdue invoices visible, chasing customers, recording what they promise, handling disputes and deciding when an account needs escalating. Some tools only send reminders; dedicated credit-control software runs the whole workflow.
Can credit-control software chase invoices automatically?
- Yes. Control runs routine invoice chasing automatically, on the schedule and in the tone you choose, and adjusts when a customer responds — for example by pausing chasing while a promise to pay is due, and picking it up again if the date is missed.
Does Control replace my accounting software?
- No. Your accounting software still raises invoices and keeps your books. Control is the credit-control layer that works on unpaid invoices until they are paid. It is not another invoicing system.
Is Control outsourced credit control?
- No. Control is software your business runs. Nobody else takes over your customer conversations. RecoverAble Solutions, a separate company, offers debt recovery — escalating an account to them is always your choice, never automatic.
What happens when a customer breaks a promise to pay?
- The promise is recorded against the invoice with its date. When the date passes without payment, Control notices, brings the account forward and recommends the next step, rather than the broken promise going unnoticed.
What happens when an invoice is disputed?
- A dispute needs different handling from a late payment. The Dispute Resolution Centre works disputed invoices separately — in limited form during the free trial, in full from Control upwards — and, on paid plans, Contract Health helps you see what your own terms say on the point in question. On every plan, a dispute is brought to you rather than chased as if it were simply late.
When should a business use dedicated credit-control software?
- Usually when chasing depends on one person’s memory, promises live in inboxes, a spreadsheet is the only view of what is overdue, or the time spent chasing is time taken from running the business. If that sounds familiar, dedicated software is worth considering.
